130th Ave NE and NE 24th st - 01-10-2007 : This is the corner next to my office, it sleeted and hailed and 15 minutes later chaos coming down the hill. Many drove too fast, a few accidents could have been avoided by not locking up the brakes. Please let me know if you use any of these pictures for news or insurance coverage. 2006-01-30, Rainy Day Soccer People : They were practicing on a rainy day - Jose introduced himself and said they never expected papparazi, they were practicing to play a couple other neighborhood teams from Mexico. This was some of my first action shooting and I have a new appreciation for the pros - focus, movement, and dodging the occasional wild soccer ball is a challenge.

2008-07-04, Kirkland Fireworks : Perfect weather for to get out and see the rocket's red glare and bombs bursting in air - we got there a couple hours early to get good seats (and parking) and enjoyed sitting with the other families on the grass. Kirkland's fireworks show is my favorite because while it is going on you can also see Seattle and Bellevue in the distance setting off their fireworks. Happy 4th!

My little blue fountain : I first saw a fountain like this at Sunset gardens in California, I finally saw one on sale (Costplus World Marketplace) and picked it up. It recommended small river stones to cover the base (the water flows down the blue pottery and into the base which is buried below ground - Bridget saw these beautiful black rock flagstones at Home Depot when we were going to get rocks and we took a chance on it. I got a mason's hammer to crack them with but it went a lot faster just picking them up and dropping them. Bridget arranged all the pieces to make this beautiful garden arrangement - we used the leftover piece as a complementary stepping stone. This water feature is just outside my front door.

2009-05-09, Walking in My Neighborhood : It was a gorgeous sunny day, so I took a walk this evening about half a mile down the road to capture some of the beautiful spring color...the tulips are always amazing. 2009-07-04, Kirkland Fireworks : Kirkland 4th of July fireworks. There was a concert featuring the 'Xbox Boys' and others before the fireworks started at 10pm. Afterward Chez and I strolled on the docks while we waited for the traffic to clear. I forgot my tripod disconnect so these were all hand held. Slideshow is the best way to watch these.

With Steamcon coming this year I think people are putting their costumes together...I picked up a copule bits of copper winding for mine.
